Customer Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 13, 2025
Your privacy is our priority. Resource Innovations (also referred in this policy as “we”, “us”, or “our”) understands that information protection is important to you, especially in today’s online environment. With Resource Innovations’ Privacy Policy, we emphasize our commitment to privacy and let you know: (i) what personal information we collect about you through your use of our “Website(s)” (which include resource-innovations.com and/or any other site that we link to this Privacy Policy) and what information we collect while providing services and managing projects for our utility customers, such as administering web portals for utilities’ end users and collecting applications to determine utilities’ end users’ program eligibility, (collectively, the “Services”); (ii) how we use your personal information; and (iii) that we use any personal information provided to us responsibly to provide you with the services you request. By accessing or using our Website(s) and Services, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy does not apply to personal information we obtain in our capacity as an employer.
Personal information, or personal data, means any information that identifies or can reasonably be used to identify a particular individual, such as name, email address, telephone number, address, date of birth, your company’s name and its type of business, and your title. Personal information or personal data does not include data that does not reasonably relate to a specific individual.
We will occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices and services. When we post changes to this Privacy Policy, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy. We recommend that you check our Website from time to time for any changes in this Privacy Policy.
Information Collected Through the Services. We collect information when you interact with us through our Services. For example, we may manage portals where utilities’ end users may apply for program participation or other offerings available or submit documentation related to a utility energy conservation or efficiency program or our business partners may send us information, or parties may otherwise inquire regarding a utility’s services. We also collect information when we administer programs on behalf of utilities, and for such administration we collect information when you communicate with us through email, program surveys, and/or program applications.
In some instances, a user account may need to be created to access certain Services. For those activities, we collect information such as contact details (e.g., name, address, email address, company name, job title, telephone number), tax identification numbers for businesses, utility account number, project and energy usage information required for participation in a utility sponsored program, the contents of a user’s public comments and postings through the specific program portals, commercial history, demographic information, account preferences, and location-based information. Most commonly, we will use your information as follows: (1) to setup a user account to provide you access to the Services which contains program documentation, and information about the status of submitted customer applications, and other services that may be available to you; (2) to enable us to contact and communicate with you, to verify your eligibility, and to qualify submitted projects for incentives through utility programs; (3) otherwise as needed to assist you with your participation in the program.
Information That You Provide on the Websites. We collect information that you choose to provide on the Websites. For example, we collect information from you when you fill out a form or enter information on our Website. We also collect information from you when you sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing communication, visit the Website, or use certain other Website features.
Information Collected Through Our Use of Cookies and Other Technologies. We also automatically collect information when you use our Websites, such as through our use of cookies. Resource Innovations uses “cookies” to remember user preferences and to maximize the performance of our Website. This information may include your IP address, your browser type and language, access times, the content of any undeleted cookies that your browser previously accepted from Resource Innovations, and the referring website address. We may assign your computer one or more cookies to facilitate access to the Website and to personalize your online experience. Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to refuse cookies or to alert you when websites set or access cookies. If you disable or refuse cookies, some parts of the Websites may become inaccessible or not function properly.
We may use standard Internet technology, such as web beacons and other similar technologies, to track your use of our Website. We also may include web beacons in advertisements or promotional or other email messages, or to determine whether messages have been opened and acted upon. The information we obtain in this manner enables us to customize our online offerings to deliver targeted advertisements and to measure the overall effectiveness of our online advertising, content, programming, or other activities.
The Website may use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google, in order to better understand your use of our Websites and how we can improve them. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit a website, what pages you visit when you do so, and what other websites you used prior to coming to such website. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit a website, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with your Personal Information. Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit a website, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to the Websites is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy.

Use and Sharing of Information. To the extent required by applicable law, we rely on the following legal bases of processing:
- Where we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you;

- Where we need to comply with a legal obligation.
We use your personal information to provide and improve our offerings and Services. We use your personal information to build and maintain a relationship with you, to register you as a new customer, to process and deliver your order, and to manage our relationship with you. We use personal information to make suggestions and recommendations to you about goods or services that may be of interest to you.
You may receive marketing communications from us if you have requested information from us, or purchased products or services from us, and you have not opted out of receiving that marketing. In general, you can visit the Websites without telling us who you are or providing any personal information about yourself, except that we may automatically collect personal information as described in the “cookies” section above. In a few areas on the Website, we ask you to provide information to enable us to contact and communicate with you, and tailor the content we provide to you. It is completely optional for you to participate. However, certain information may be required for you to fully participate in our Services, for example, in order for us to determine your eligibility for utility programs.
Additionally, we may retain and use personal information to respond to your questions or requests for information about or from us. We may also use personal information as necessary to ensure compliance with any of our policies and any applicable legal requirements.
We may aggregate your information, without identifying you personally, to obtain statistical and demographic background on users of the Websites.
Sharing of Your Personal Information
We will not sell your personal information, as defined under applicable law, to any outside organization. We engage third-party providers who may collect or receive your personal information on our behalf. Such third-party providers perform functions such as services they are providing to us or the utility related to the utility program, payment processing, operating and supporting the Website, analyzing data, or performing marketing or consulting services. They are required to process your personal information only for specified purposes and per our instructions, and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
We may also share personal information according to your consent. We will get your express opt-in consent before we share your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes. We may enhance or merge your information collected on the Website with data from third parties for purposes of tailoring the information we communicate to you.
We may also disclose personal information, as well as information collected via cookies or web beacons as described above, in connection with law enforcement, fraud prevention, regulation, and other legal action, or if we reasonably believe it is necessary to do so to protect Resource Innovations, its customers, or the public.
As we grow and develop our business, our corporate structure or organization might change, we may merge or otherwise combine with, or we or portions of our business might be acquired by, another company. In any such transaction, personal information generally is, and should be expected to be, one of the transferred business assets. Also, if any bankruptcy or reorganization proceeding is brought by or against us, your information may be considered a company asset that may be sold or transferred to third parties.
Opt-out & Unsubscribe. You can ask us to stop sending you marketing messages at any time by following the unsubscribe link contained in our marketing messages sent to you or other instructions in our marketing materials, or by contacting us in accordance with the “How To Contact Resource Innovations” section below.
Third-Party Sites. There may be links on the Website that would link you to third-party websites. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control the content, privacy policies, or practices of these third-party websites. These third-party websites may independently solicit and collect personal and non-identifying information from you and, in some instances, provide us with information about your activities on those sites. When you leave our Website, we encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website you visit.
Protect Your Information. Resource Innovations is committed to securely using and storing the personal information that we collect and will take reasonable precautions to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal information from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered, or disclosed. In addition, we typically limit access to your personal information to those employees, agents, contractors, and other third parties who have a business need to know.
We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.
Data Retention. We will only retain your personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or reporting requirements. We may retain your personal data for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect to our relationship with you.
To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or other requirements.

Access to Specific Information and Data Portability Rights
You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we will disclose to you, at your request:
- The categories of personal information we collected about you.

We may not complete or partially complete your deletion request if retaining the relevant information is necessary for us or our service provider(s) to:
- Complete the transaction for which we collected the personal information, provide a good or service that you requested, take actions reasonably anticipated within the context of our ongoing business relationship with you, fulfill the terms of a written warranty or product recall conducted in accordance with federal law, or otherwise perform our contract with you.

- Comply with a legal obligation.
- Make other internal and lawful uses of that information that are compatible with the context in which you provided it.

Exercising Access, Data Portability, and Deletion Rights
To exercise the access, data portability, and deletion rights described above, please submit a verifiable consumer request to us by either:
- Completing the Data Rights Request form HERE
- 1-800-943-6846
- privacy@resource-innovations.com
Only you, or someone legally authorized to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information.
You may only make a verifiable consumer request for access or data portability twice within a 12-month period. The verifiable consumer request, whether sent by you or your authorized agent, must:
- Provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably work to verify that you are the person about whom we collected personal information or an authorized representative. To do so, we may ask that you provide additional personal information.
- Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.
We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm that certain the personal information relates to you.
Response Timing and Format
We will send an initial acknowledgement of receipt of your request within 10 business days upon our receipt of your request, at which point we may ask you to provide additional information. We will typically complete your request within forty-five (45) days of its receipt. If we require more time (up to 45 days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing.
If you have an account with us, we will deliver our written response to that account. If you do not have an account with us, we will deliver our written response by mail or electronically, at your option.
Any disclosures we provide will only cover the 12-month period preceding the verifiable consumer request’s receipt. The response we provide will also explain the reasons why we cannot comply with a request, if applicable. For data portability requests, we will select a format to provide your personal information that is readily useable and should allow you to transmit the information from one entity to another entity without hindrance.
We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded. If we determine that the request warrants a fee, we will tell you why we made that decision and provide you with a cost estimate before completing your request.
Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. Unless permitted by the CCPA, we will not:
- Deny you goods or services.
- Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties.
- Provide you a different level or quality of goods or services.
